Terms of Service

By accessing or using lixTranslator, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.

lixTranslator is part of the brand family Creativlix · lixPresentr · Pagelix.

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and able to form a legally binding contract to use the service.

You create an account using an email address and password or via Google OAuth (Neon Auth / Better Auth).

• Email/password sign-up requires email verification before you receive full access to the service.
• You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and you are responsible for all activity under your account.
• Google Sign-In is governed by Google’s terms; you authorize us to receive your basic Google profile (name, email, avatar) to create and identify your account.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

lixTranslator provides real-time speech and text translation: translated audio playback, live captions, saved transcripts, a glossary, one-way and two-way modes, and listen-along links.

Translation is automated and provided “as is,” with no guarantee of accuracy or fitness for any particular purpose. Do not rely on the translation for critical, legal, medical, or safety-critical decisions without human verification.

When using the service, you agree not to:

• use it for any illegal purpose, or to publish infringing, hateful, or harassing content;
• attempt to break security, reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or circumvent quotas or usage limits;
• resell or redistribute the service without our permission;
• use it to record or translate other people without any consent required by law;
• access it through abusive automated means.

• Tiers: Free, Starter (~$19/mo), and Pro (~$79/mo), with monthly audio-minute allowances (15 / 300 / 1,500) and feature gates (two-way mode and glossary on paid plans; team seats, pooled minutes, and EU data residency on Pro).
• Billing is handled by Stripe; paid plans renew automatically until cancelled.
• Audio is metered per minute; you authorize charges for your plan and any usage-based amounts.
• Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues to the end of the paid period; fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law.
• We may change prices with reasonable notice.

The service depends on third-party processors (Soniox, Microsoft Azure, OpenAI, Neon, Stripe, Cloudflare, Vercel, and Google). Their availability and terms are outside our control, and your use may also be subject to their own terms. See our Privacy Policy for details.

You retain ownership of your audio, transcripts, and glossary terms. You grant us a limited licence to process them solely to provide the service. You are responsible for having the rights and consent to translate the content you submit.

The lixTranslator software, brand, and design are owned by us. No rights are granted to you except the limited right to use the service.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate, and translation quality may vary.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our aggregate liability is capped at the amount you paid in the prior 12 months (or a small fixed amount for free users).

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content or your misuse of the service.

Either party may terminate this agreement. On termination, your access ends and your data is handled according to the retention rules in our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada (Province of Quebec), without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be brought before the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
